BILL CLABO FIELD @ EDDIE COURTNEY STADIUM

Originally named Jenkins Field when it first opened in the summer of 1978, the “Home of the Admirals” has seen a number of upgrades. Coach Ken Sparks oversaw the planning and construction of the new facility when Farragut High School was reconstructed across Kingston Pike to its present-day location. That first season in 1978 saw the Admirals go undefeated at home until the State Semifinals in the Class AAA playoffs. A pressbox expansion was added to the original grandstands before the 1998 season adding a second level of enclosed box seats. In 2005, the playing surface was renamed Bill Clabo Field in honor of Coach Clabo who coached the Admirals from 1960-1976. The original concrete bleachers were removed in 2008 and replaced with the aluminum grandstands that exist today. And in 2015, the stadium was renamed Eddie Courtney Stadium in honor of the longtime Admirals’ coach who has been on the FHS sidelines since 1977. Prior to the 2016 season, a new turf project was completed by Shaw SportsTurf with the synthetic surface that exist today. The Admirals have compiled a 189-72 overall record at home since 1978 with a 26-5 record at home in the TSSAA playoffs. The Admirals won 30 straight home games from 2005-2009.
