The Farragut Star was installed in the Fall of 2006 at the base of the flagpole in the east end zone area. Along with the anchor, the star is the second project to be completed this year at the stadium. The star is the re-creation of a much smaller star that was originally placed beneath the old flagpole behind the southwest corner of the end zone years ago. That star which was flush with the ground was no longer visible, and beyond any hope of repair.
The concept for the new star was approved by the booster club earlier in the season, but structural challenges delayed the installation until just recently. Special thanks go out to Rich Wigren and his team who worked on making the star a reality. The star will be painted in Admiral colors and will serve as a symbol of the “Admiral Nation” at Bill Clabo field.
