Former Admiral Nick Guess Signs with San Diego

Nick Guess, a 2007 graduate of Farragut has signed as free agent to play with the San Diego Chargers. He has been Tennessee’s long snapper for the past two years.

Blue-Gray Game on Friday Night, May 11 @ 7:30

Fans, you don’t have to wait until August to see the boys of fall! This year, the annual Blue-Gray game will be held on Friday night, May 11 at 7:30. CBFO will be joining us starting at 4:30 for football signups. There will also be a youth football skills challenge prior to the game. All kids through the 8th grade are welcome. Prizes will be awarded.

The game will begin at 7:30 and tickets are $5. Calhoun’s barbequeue and drinks will be available for purchase.

Volunteers are still needed. Please contact your class representative if you are able to help. It’s fun and a great way to meet other admiral parents.

CBFO Hosting Football Skills Challenge at Blue-Gray Game

What is it?
A football skills challenge for participants between the ages of 7 and 14 years old. Participants will have the opportunity to punt a ball, attempt three field goals and three passes. The highest total combined score wins.

Station 1 – Punt a ball from the east end zone. Where your punt hits (not rolls to) rounded to the nearest 5 yard line is your score.
Station 2 – Attempt three field goals on the east end zone goal. Balls will be set up from the 5 / 10 / 15 yard lines. A 5 yard completion = 15 points, 10 yards = 20 points, 15 yards = 25 points. You decide what yardage to try for.
Station 3 – Attempt three passes. Silhouettes located on the 10 / 15 / 25 yard lines. Hit the silhouette and you are awarded the yardage. You decide which silhouettes to attempt.

Total combined score from all three challenges wins. Trophies will be awarded at half-time of the Blue/Gray game. An overall winner will be crowned in the 8 and under segment, age 9 – 10, age 11 – 12

Sign-ups from 4:30pm – 5:45pm

Admirals Honored at National Football Foundation Banquet

Each year, the East Tennessee Chapter of the National Football Foundation & Hall of Fame recognizes the high school scholar-athletes who achieved success in the sport of football and in the classroom. Award recipients not only posted outstanding GPAs, but were contributors and role models in their respective communities by their accomplishments off the field. This year’s list of recipients include three Farragut Admirals.

Garrett Bowdle, son of Keven and Karen Bowdle
Madison Brown, son of Stanton and Angela Brown
Robert Wrinkle, son of Robert and Jennifer Wrinkle

Gregg Harper, who passed away in January, 2012, posthumously received the Distinguished Service Award for his passionate support of Farragut Football which led to increased participation, sponsorship and support of Farragut athletics by the community.

Congratulations to Garrett, Madison and Robert on your awards and thank you Bowdles, Browns, Wrinkles and Harpers for your service to FHS, the Farragut community and for being a part of the Farragut Admiral Football family.

2012 Spring Cleanup Day is Here!

It’s been a long Winter. We may have not had a lot of snow, but we all sure appreciate Spring. Now that the trees are green and the sky is blue, it’s time to put a little LOVE into OUR STADIUM and FIELD.

Saturday, April 21, we will be meeting at the field from 8-11 AM for our Spring Cleanup Day. Your VP, Melissa, has been working with Coach Courtney on what needs to be done and we’re all looking forward to getting started.

PLEASE JOIN US!! What could be better than spending time with friends doing something for which we can be proud. I know several of us are planning to head over to the Orange and White game after we’re done… so you know we will end on time.
